How the Annina Hänny school building came into being
On 31st August 2016, the exceptionally popular English teacher at Berufsschule Lenzburg vocational school, Annina Hänny-Schulz, died of breast cancer at the age of 55.
Gone too soon, Annina was a member of the “Soroptimist International Club Lenzburg” association for women. It was there that Annina Hänny met Regina Nasseremba, founder of Beatrice Secondary School Kyankwanzi in Uganda. Annina and Regina got on very well and became friends. The Hänny family therefore decided to support the school in Uganda with the donations from the condolences fund. The condolences expressed for Annina Hänny were overwhelming, and a record sum of money was collected in her memory. With the total sum of 26,000 Swiss Francs, School Principal Regina decided to create a lasting memorial. She subsequently laid the foundation stone for the Annina Hänny school building, which has several floors and will help cover the school’s capacity requirements for many years to come. The initial ground-breaking ceremony for the new school building took place on 8th July 2018. After seven years of construction and with the support of the Hänny family and other generous sponsors, the house was officially opened on May 22, 2025, in the presence of the Hänny family.

Rainwater channels
February 24, 2021
A storm water problem that has existed for a long time is currently being fixed on the school grounds. Because the land slopes gently, soil is washed out and across the site during heavy rains. This means there is red earth everywhere, slippery, soggy paths, and discoloured building walls. Now canals are being built through which the water can flow off in an orderly manner. These will remain open. Regina will plant bushes around the edges to prevent animals from stepping in them.
