In contrast to many other schools, the BSSK is located in a rural area, in the home village of its founder and school director Regina Nasseremba. Numerous children from the area would like to attend the lessons. However not all parents are capable of paying the school fees. In these cases the school is dependent of people or organisations who will take on sponsorships.
With an amount of CHF 350.00 you enable a young person to study and live for one year at the BSSK. Included are school fees, meals and living at the boarding school during the three trimesters covered by a school year and an administration fee of the school. Sponsorship plus with an amount of CHF 500.00 includes a contribution to the entire school community. Since 2026, a vocational sponsorship has been newly created for vocational training. Your contribution of CHF 250.00 enables a young person to receive vocational training for one year.
Interested pupils must apply to the headteacher Regina Nasseremba. A panel of five experts assesses the candidates and selects the most suitable and in need. Those who receive a sponsorship are expected to be willing to learn, to be socially involved and to give something back to the BSSK at the end of their study period in the form of volunteer work or sponsorship. They are expected to join the association of former BSSK students.
School fee donations that are not linked to a sponsorship are also very welcome. These fill gaps where school fees have only been paid in part or make it possible to finance an external speaker to provide all the students with useful information about a specific topic.
Some students stay at school even during holidays, due to poverty or the loss of their parents. They work in the large vegetable garden of BSSK in order to earn a part of their school fees on their own.
